Independent advice on your water and brine

Tell us what you are dealing with: a brine stream with no good outlet, a vendor quote you are unsure about, a permit that is tightening, or a reuse target you need to hit. We will look at it from the process side and the business side, without a product to sell you.

What a first conversation is useful for

  • Choosing an endpoint. Whether your site needs zero liquid discharge, minimum liquid discharge or a better-managed liquid residual, and what evidence is still missing to decide.
  • Checking a vendor proposal. Whether the recovery, energy and cost figures in a quotation are plausible for your water chemistry.
  • Preparing for a permit change. What tighter discharge limits or new water efficiency requirements mean for your current treatment train.
  • Planning reuse or recovery. Which streams are worth reusing, and what happens to the concentrate when you do.
  • Early-stage projects and due diligence. Technology screening and feasibility questions for developers and investors.

Who you will speak with

Your enquiry goes to Christos Charisiadis, founder of Brine Consulting, based in Amsterdam. Where a question needs deeper specialist input, such as crystallization, membranes, produced water or industrial wastewater process engineering, we draw on the 20 specialists in our expert network.

Brine Consulting sells no treatment equipment. Our recommendations are not tied to any supplier’s product range.

What to share so the conversation is useful

The more of these you can give, the more specific the first answer will be:

  • The industry and the process the water comes from
  • Approximate flow, in cubic metres per day
  • Salinity or TDS, if known, and any recent lab analysis
  • Where the water goes today: sewer, surface water, haulage or another route
  • The decision you are facing and when it needs to be made

What happens after you send your enquiry

  1. Christos reads your message and any data you attached.
  2. You receive a reply by email, either with a first view on your question or with a proposed time to talk.
  3. If the question needs specialist input, we say who we would involve and why.
  4. If a structured piece of work would help, such as a pre-feasibility review, cost range estimate or vendor evaluation, we explain what it would cover before anything is agreed.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell or represent treatment equipment?

No. Brine Consulting is an independent advisory firm and sells no treatment equipment, so our technology and cost advice carries no product agenda.

Can you review a quotation we have already received?

Yes. Vendor evaluation is part of our water treatment and ZLD consulting work. Attach the proposal, or a summary of it, to your enquiry.

Do you work outside the Netherlands?

We are based in Amsterdam and advise industrial operators in the Netherlands and across the EU.

What if we do not have good data yet?

Get in touch anyway. Part of a first conversation is identifying which data is missing and which sampling or balances would close the gap, so you do not commission a study before the basics are in place.
